Finding Faith
I'm finding faith by choosing what is
right,
By worshipping Truth with each step I take,
In communing with the golden sunlight,
In the steadfast journey the sun will make.
The
soaring, illuminating feeling
from the upward direction 'The Light' gives,
And clues from ancient trees about healing
are the inspired moments where faith lives.
I'm finding faith in honoring my heart
when it feels what's benevolent and true,
And in letting my conscience play its part
in every facet of what I do.
My faith is not found in religions of
man;
Where people unite in 'man's world' to pray,
But in the doing of all that I can
to stand resolute in cruelty's way.
Surely,
there is no God that dictates war,
Nor harm to animal, the Earth or man
And my faith would have me searching for more
of a religion that teaches we can.
I find faith in changing the
'programmed me';
made of learned habits in need of correction,
to one befitting of God's reality;
a
paradisiacal world of perfection.
