A Conversation

Consumed by what I think, feel and see,
My perception is reality.

I'm asking you to step out of you,
And see yourself as others do.

What! Step out of me? How dare you ask
such a completely arduous task!

Review your actions inside your mind,
Through another's eyes, what do you find?

A person who is set on seeing
the wrongs of some other human being.

When they look wrong, you think you look right.
It's your ego that impairs your sight!

There's no time left for improving me,
when others' faults are all that I see.

It's your character that's your concern,
Work on the lessons you need to learn.

When I step out of myself, I see
that there's much to change, starting with me.

Now you're seeing from a higher view
